The lord will work out his plans for my life— for your faithful love, O lord, endures forever. Don’t abandon me, for you made me.
~ Psalm 138: 8 NLT
God’s Plans Are For The Betterment of Our Lives
Our plans are never final. No matter what we may believe and no matter how much work we put into something. There will always be some type of variable in what we want to do. We have to learn to be ok with that variable. We have to be ok with the variable that can change our entire outcome. We have to be ok with God changing our plans so that they become his plans.
We are flawed creatures so the plans we made for our own future will also be flawed. They can only be perfected when in alignment with the word of God. God stops our plans from happening because he is shielding us from danger. God is protecting us from anything that the enemy may try to use to pull us away from him.
God’s Love Endures Forever
Our plans change in order to become God’s plans because of his enduring love. If God didn’t love us, then he wouldn’t stop us from entering certain situations. We may not get the guy we liked for the past month or get the job we hoped for. It doesn’t mean that God doesn’t love us. It means that God has something better for us. It might be hard right now but trust me. God is looking after you and is just waiting for you to give him the OK to continue with his plan.
God’s plan shows us his love because they are always for our good. God would never give us something that would be detrimental to our livelihood. In fact, he tries to remove us from situations where our lives, physically and spiritually, may be in danger.
God Won’t Abandon Us
When our plans change, we can sometimes think that it is because God left us. He hasn’t. He is still there. He won’t leave us because he is a good father and we are his children. He would never abandon his children.
So we should stand firm in knowing God hasn’t abandoned us. Things may have changed and everything might be falling apart, but God is still there comforting us through it. It’s ok to cry, but we can’t wallow in the pain.
When God changes our plans for his, everything is going to work out.
